Windows Vista came out earlier this year, and it is pretty cool and has many features (although it still has many problems). Apple’s current operating system, Tiger, is better than Windows XP and is still better than Vista. But the general public wants the flashy latest designs, and it’s time Apple came out with an operating system to compete with Vista in that area.
The answer to Vista is the Leopard, which was displayed for the first time a couple days ago. Leopard has been in the works for about a year now and there have been many rumors and junk on other blogs about it. I have abstained from writing about it until now, that we have hard facts and screenshots.
First off, it doesn’t look very different from Tiger. New to Leopard are that semi-transparent bar at the top, and that floor for the quick launch buttons. Most of the changes are in performance and useful features (unlike Vista). In the above screenshot, see the prominent window? When I glanced at it I thought it was iTunes, but it’s actually the My Documents folder. The whole computer explorer system is set up this way, which is efficient and very cool. There are many new groundbreaking features, but this post is already too long. If you want to learn more go here.
Leopard will replace Tiger in October. My next computer definitely will be an Apple, even though the operating system isn’t compatible with many of the programs I use. I’ll just dual-boot with Windows.

Nice idea. I would do that too but it’s too expensive. So is iPhone and any other Apple product.
Also, windows is much more “piracy-friendly” – if you know what I mean

That’s partially why I like Mac better.
Yep, you’re right, Apple is expensive. But my long suffering iPod is proof that you get what you pay for

That’s partially why I don’t like Apple products.
The iPod mini was my first mp3 player which died in about 15 months.
I love my ZEN (which is a “windows”-based mp3 player, also reads the .wma files) which I’m still using…
long story, you can read here: http://davron.wordpress.com/2007/07/11/me-and-my-zen/
